The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust: One Is Too Many Suicide Prevention Conference
Online
Free, Registration required
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is holding its One Too Many Suicide Prevention Conference on the 11thof October 2023 virtually.
The conference will explore the One is Too Many programme which awarded grants to nine projects aiming to reduce suicide risk of vulnerable veterans. Four of the projects were working to provide support to veterans in the Devolved Nations, and the remaining five focused their support in the UK. The projects aimed to deliver evidence about the effect of direct support on reducing suicide rates in veterans who are not accessing help, and how access to support can be improved for more effective suicide prevention in the veteran community.
You will hear from the nine grant holders about their work across the UK, as well as the findings from the external evaluation, presented by Professor Alan Finnegan and his team at the Westminster Centre for Research in Veterans, Chester University. Key attendees will feature people with lived experiences and key speakers from the MOD, Office for Veterans’ Affairs, and NHS England.
