    The Centre for Military Research Education and Public Engagement is a research, education, public engagement, and practice unit in Scotland dedicated to the Armed Forces. It is based in Edinburgh Napier, a recognised Gold Covenant University, and works with key military stakeholders across Scotland, the UK and internationally through various networks related to armed forces transition, mental health, and wellbeing. At the heart of the centre is a multidisciplinary team of academics, practitioners, veterans, and key military personnel from tri-services with a reputation and demonstrable track record for innovation and flexible approaches to project management, quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies

  • The Gambling Research, Education and Treatment (GREAT) Network

    The Gambling Research, Education and Treatment (GREAT) Network Wales exists to drive research, education and treatment for all forms of gambling-related harm in individuals, families and communities. As a network for researchers, service providers, people with lived experience and policymakers, GREAT develops effective treatments for problematic or excessive gambling, educational and consultancy services for all sectors, produces high-quality, peer-reviewed impartial research, and serves as a clearinghouse for scientific and policy-based evidence regarding gambling and its related harms.

  • The Northern Hub For Veterans and Military Families Research

    The Northern Hub for Veterans and Military Families Research are a multi-disciplinary team conducting integral translational research in the Armed Forces Community. The Northern Hub’s research profile is both qualitative and quantitative, covering health and social care, public health, psychology, social policy, human geography, and nursing. They consistently work to attract and facilitate collaboration across the Armed Forces sector, working with a variety of organisations across the Government, Local Authorities, NHS and Third Sector.

  • The Scottish Veterans Health Research Group

    Glasgow, United Kingdom

    The Scottish Veterans Health Research Group provides high-quality evidence-based information on the long-term health of military Veterans, acting as an evidence base for policy-makers, planners, and service providers and to counter the potentially damaging myths and misconceptions about Veterans’ health. Their team also carry out research on the health of Serving personnel, especially in areas where there may be an impact on long-term health extending into life as a Veteran, to inform planning for preventive strategies.

    Established in 2016, The Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice is a flagship for interdisciplinary research in areas of major societal change.  This rings together researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and peace-builders from diverse backgrounds and international locations who share their multiple perspectives and work collaboratively to solve specific problems associated with the GRI’s priority themes of Legacy, The Politics of Security and Institutional Peacebuilding, Rights and Social Justice and Religion, Arts and Peacebuilding.

  • The Service Children's Progression (SCiP) Alliance

    Winchester, United Kingdom

    The Service Children's Progression Alliance, hosted by the University of Winchester's Research and Innovation Department, brings together practitioners, researchers, policymakers and funders to build a stronger evidence-base, better policy, and enhanced support for Service children’s education and progression, placing their voices at the heart of activity. The SCiP Alliance Research-practice Hub Network brings together hundreds of professionals across the UK to build collaboration and it has designed, tested and rolled out collaborative delivery models including the Creative Forces and the Festival of Friends programmes which connect military professionals, families and children with civilian partners.
